This 3-day, 18-hour HSE-aligned training is the higher-tier workplace first aid certificate suitable for higher-risk environments — life sciences, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, construction, large hospitality and healthcare across Edinburgh and the Lothians — and meets HSE first-aid needs assessment requirements. Certificates are valid for 3 years, with an annual refresher recommended by HSE and a 2-day requalification course before the 3-year expiry. Public courses run at our Edinburgh training venue, 6 Redheughs Rigg in South Gyle (EH12 9DQ), easily reached by train to South Gyle, Edinburgh Trams Gyle Centre and the M8, M9 and A720 City Bypass, and we deliver on-site group training across Edinburgh including the Financial District, Edinburgh Park, Leith, Fort Kinnaird, Straiton, Livingston, Dalkeith, Musselburgh and out to Dunfermline. Learners cover primary survey, CPR and AED use, choking, severe bleeding and shock, burns, fractures, head and spinal injuries, chest, abdominal and pelvic injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis, asthma, diabetic emergencies, seizures and unresponsive casualty management, with continuous practical assessment and short written question papers. Once trained, you will be First Aid at Work qualified — a workplace certificate accepted by HSE, the Care Inspectorate, Education Scotland and Edinburgh-based clients across financial services, life sciences, public sector and NHS Lothian.
