First aid training across Greater Cardiff and surrounding areas
Our trainers run public Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid courses at central Cardiff venues throughout the year — with on-site delivery available anywhere across the wider region. Whether you're booking a single seat or training a whole team, you'll get a practical, HSE-aligned session led by an experienced instructor.
We support employers, schools, nurseries, charities and event organisers right across Greater Cardiff, from city-centre offices to industrial sites on the outskirts. On-site team training keeps your people in their own environment, cuts travel time to zero and works out significantly cheaper per person than sending staff to public courses — ideal for groups of six or more.
Why undertake EFAW training in Cardiff?
Cardiff is the capital of Wales and the commercial, media and public sector heart of the South Wales region, with major NHS, Welsh Government, university, BBC Cymru Wales, financial services, retail and hospitality employers concentrated in the city centre, Cardiff Bay and the M4 corridor. Training Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) locally — at the Mercure Cardiff North on Circle Way East (CF23 9XF), just off Junction 30 of the M4 — keeps staff inside the CF postcode area, saves cross-border travel time, and lets us deliver on-site closed courses across the wider South Wales region for groups of 6 or more.
As the capital of Wales, Cardiff boasts a dynamic economy ranging from major public services and financial institutions to a burgeoning media sector. For all Welsh businesses, fulfilling the first-aid duties mandated by the HSE is a crucial legal obligation to protect both staff and the public.

About Emergency First Aid at Work training in Cardiff
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training in Cardiff is delivered at the Mercure Cardiff North on Circle Way East (CF23 9XF), a four-star hotel conference venue in Llanedeyrn with on-site parking, accessible classrooms and the Queenwood bus stop a 5-minute walk away — just off Junction 30 of the M4 and a short drive from the city centre. The 1-day, 6-hour course is a recognised course, aligned with the Health and Safety Executive's First Aid at Work guidance and recognised by Welsh employers, the HSE and local authorities, and awards a 3-year nationally recognised certificate. It is the right course for low-risk workplaces — offices, contact centres, media and creative studios, retail, hospitality, gyms, salons, schools, GP and dental practices and community settings — across Cardiff, Penarth, Barry, Caerphilly, Newport, Pontypridd and the wider South Wales commuter belt. The course is delivered by experienced instructors and covers the primary survey (DR ABC), unresponsive casualty management and the recovery position, adult CPR with AED familiarisation, choking in adults, control of bleeding and shock, burns and scalds, minor injuries and seizures. Assessment is practical and continuous — there is no formal written exam — so candidates are signed off on observed competence at the end of the day. We can also deliver EFAW on-site for groups across the central business district around Callaghan Square and Capital Quarter, Cardiff Bay and Roath Lock studios, Cardiff Gate Business Park, Cardiff Business Park (Llanishen), Cardiff Bay Retail Park, the Capital Region's hospitals and universities, and the M4 / A470 / A4232 logistics corridors. Public Cardiff courses run regularly through the year and are typically booked by Cardiff & Vale University Health Board staff, Welsh Government and Senedd teams, Cardiff Council departments, BBC Cymru Wales and the surrounding media employers at Roath Lock, retailers around St David's and Queen Street, hotel and F&B teams, Cardiff University and Cardiff Met departments, and warehouse / logistics operators along the M4. For groups of 6 or more it is normally more cost-effective to book a closed in-house course at your own premises — we can travel anywhere across the CF postcode area and into the South Wales Valleys. The qualification, certificate and assessment standard are identical to the public course.
