Why Train in Sheffield?

Training locally in Sheffield saves travel time and cost for South Yorkshire employers. The city's economy spans advanced manufacturing at the AMP, creative industries in Kelham Island, major universities, and the NHS Sheffield Teaching Hospitals trust. Our Sheffield centre is easily reached from Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield, and Doncaster, making it a practical choice for businesses across the city region.

As a major economic centre in South Yorkshire, Sheffield has a large workforce in sectors from advanced manufacturing to higher education. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 mandate that all employers must provide adequate first aid resources, making properly trained personnel a legal necessity for businesses across the city.

About Paediatric First Aid training in Sheffield

Our 2-day Sheffield Paediatric First Aid course covers the full 12-hour syllabus for working with infants (under 1) and children (1 to puberty) and issues a certificate valid for 3 years. It is built around the paediatric first aid requirements set out in the EYFS Statutory Framework, so a nominated first aider can use it to evidence the qualification needed by Ofsted-registered nurseries, pre-schools and childminders across South Yorkshire. Public dates run from our central Sheffield venue with easy reach from the Moor, Devonshire Quarter and the city-centre Supertram stops, plus the M1 (Junctions 33–36) and Sheffield station for staff travelling in from Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield and Doncaster. We also deliver on-site closed groups directly at your setting — city-centre nurseries, Hillsborough, Ecclesall, Crookes, Dore, plus Crystal Peaks, Chapeltown and out to Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield, Dronfield and Doncaster — useful when a setting is opening, when several staff certificates fall due together, or when you're training a whole team in one go. Sessions are taught by paediatric-experienced instructors using realistic infant and child manikins, with practical scenarios covering an unresponsive baby, choking, febrile convulsions, anaphylaxis (including auto-injector use), asthma attacks, head injuries, burns and meningitis recognition. We are a recognised training provider; certificates are issued in the trained adult's name and can be added straight to your safeguarding file or Ofsted evidence pack. A short annual refresher between full 3-year renewals is recommended to keep skills current.
