How long is the Paediatric First Aid course in Birmingham?

Yes. Primary survey for babies and children, infant and child CPR, AED use, choking, the recovery position, an unresponsive casualty, bleeding, shock, head and spinal injuries, burns and scalds, fractures, febrile convulsions, asthma attacks, anaphylaxis (including auto-injector use), meningitis recognition, diabetic emergencies and common childhood illnesses. Scenarios are tuned to Birmingham nursery and school settings. Is there written work or an exam?

There is no formal written exam. Learners are assessed continuously by the instructor across practical scenarios and short knowledge checks across the 2 days. Can a parent or nanny book on the course without working at a nursery?

Yes. The course is open to individual parents, grandparents, au pairs and private nannies in Birmingham — you do not need to work in an EYFS setting to attend.
