First aid training across Greater Paisley and surrounding areas
Our trainers run public Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid courses at central Paisley venues throughout the year — with on-site delivery available anywhere across the wider region. Whether you're booking a single seat or training a whole team, you'll get a practical, HSE-aligned session led by an experienced instructor.
We support employers, schools, nurseries, charities and event organisers right across Greater Paisley, from city-centre offices to industrial sites on the outskirts. On-site team training keeps your people in their own environment, cuts travel time to zero and works out significantly cheaper per person than sending staff to public courses — ideal for groups of six or more.
Why undertake EFAW training in Paisley?
Paisley is the largest town in Scotland and the commercial heart of Renfrewshire, with major NHS, university, public sector, retail, hospitality and aerospace / logistics employers concentrated in the town centre and around Glasgow Airport. Training Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) locally — at the British Red Cross Centre on Smithhills Street (PA1 1EB), a 4-minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Street station — saves staff travel time into central Glasgow, keeps people inside the PA postcode area, and lets us deliver on-site closed courses across Renfrewshire and West Glasgow for groups of 6 or more.
As Renfrewshire largest town and a key part of the Greater Glasgow area, Paisley has a varied economy with strong public, retail and service sectors. It is a legal requirement under HSE regulations for all employers in Paisley to ensure adequate and appropriate first aid provision is in place.

Getting here
Paisley is exceptionally well-connected. Paisley Gilmour Street is a major rail hub on the Glasgow–Ayrshire / Inverclyde lines with very frequent services to Glasgow Central (about 10 minutes), and the town has three further local stations (Paisley Canal, Paisley St James, Hawkhead). By road the town sits directly off the M8 with the A737, A726 and A761 fanning out across Renfrewshire — and Glasgow Airport is a 5-minute drive. The Smithhills Street training venue is in the centre of Paisley, a 4-minute walk from Gilmour Street, with car parks a short walk away.

About Emergency First Aid at Work training in Paisley
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training in Paisley is delivered at the British Red Cross Centre on Smithhills Street (PA1 1EB), a dedicated training facility a 4-minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Street station and the main Gauze Street bus corridor. The 1-day, 6-hour course is a recognised recognised qualification, mapped to the Health and Safety Executive's First Aid at Work guidance, and awards a 3-year nationally recognised certificate. It is the right course for low-risk workplaces — offices, contact centres, retail, hospitality, gyms, salons, schools, GP and dental practices and community settings — across Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone, Erskine, Linwood, Bishopton and the wider Renfrewshire / West Glasgow commuter belt. The course is delivered by experienced instructors and covers the primary survey (DR ABC), unresponsive casualty management and the recovery position, adult CPR with AED familiarisation, choking in adults, control of bleeding and shock, burns and scalds, minor injuries and seizures. Assessment is practical and continuous — there is no formal written exam — so candidates are signed off on observed competence at the end of the day. We can also deliver EFAW on-site for groups across Paisley town centre, the Royal Alexandra Hospital area, Abbotsinch Business Park, Hillington Industrial Estate, Inchinnan Business Park, the Glasgow Airport campus, Linwood and Phoenix Retail Park, and the M8 / A737 distribution corridors. Public Paisley courses run regularly through the year and are typically booked by NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde staff, Renfrewshire Council teams, University of the West of Scotland departments, retailers across Paisley and Braehead, hotel and F&B teams, Glasgow Airport-area employers, and warehouse / logistics operators along the M8. For groups of 6 or more it is normally more cost-effective to book a closed in-house course at your own premises — we can travel anywhere across the PA postcode area and into Glasgow. The qualification, certificate and assessment standard are identical to the public course.
