First aid training across Greater Cambridge and surrounding areas
Our trainers run public Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid courses at central Cambridge venues throughout the year — with on-site delivery available anywhere across the wider region. Whether you're booking a single seat or training a whole team, you'll get a practical, HSE-aligned session led by an experienced instructor.
We support employers, schools, nurseries, charities and event organisers right across Greater Cambridge, from city-centre offices to industrial sites on the outskirts. On-site team training keeps your people in their own environment, cuts travel time to zero and works out significantly cheaper per person than sending staff to public courses — ideal for groups of six or more.
Why undertake EFAW training in Cambridge?
Cambridge is a global hub for life sciences, technology and academic research, with employers ranging from biotech start-ups on Granta Park and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus through to colleges, language schools and creative agencies in the historic centre. Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 every Cambridge employer must complete a first-aid needs assessment — for low-risk offices, labs with good engineering controls and educational settings a one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate is normally sufficient, while higher-hazard sites typically need the three-day FAW. Training locally at our Holiday Inn Cambridge venue in Impington (CB24 9PH), just off the A14 at Histon, keeps researchers and office staff close to the workplace and produces an recognised course recognised by the HSE for three years.
Cambridge is a global centre for innovation, with a unique economic landscape dominated by science, technology and research. Within these highly specialised workplaces, fulfilling the legal first-aid duties set by the HSE is a critical component of maintaining a safe and productive environment.

About Emergency First Aid at Work training in Cambridge
Our Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course in Cambridge is a one-day recognised course delivered at the Holiday Inn Cambridge on Bridge Road in Impington (CB24 9PH), right at the Histon junction of the A14 and a short drive from the Science Park, Biomedical Campus and city centre. The qualification meets the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 for low-risk Cambridge workplaces — typical R&D offices, life-science labs with good engineering controls, university and college departments, language schools, charities and creative agencies — and gives nominated first aiders the practical skills to manage an unresponsive casualty, perform CPR with an AED, treat choking, control catastrophic bleeding, recognise shock, and handle minor injuries such as burns, fractures and head wounds. Each delegate completes practical assessment and a short theory check on the day and leaves with an HSE-recognised certificate valid for three years. We run public open courses throughout the year for individuals and small teams from Cambridge, Histon, Milton, Waterbeach, Sawston, Ely, Newmarket and Huntingdon, and we deliver on-site group bookings across the city — including Cambridge Science Park, St John's Innovation Park, Granta Park, Babraham Research Campus and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus — where scenarios can be tailored to laboratory, research, hospitality, education and office risks. For higher-risk sites or larger employers we also offer the three-day First Aid at Work (FAW) course and the annual FAW Refresher.
