If your first-aid needs assessment identifies higher-risk processes (large solvent volumes, lone working with hazardous materials, work at height) you should look at the three-day FAW course instead. To remain a designated workplace first aider you simply rebook onto another full one-day EFAW course before the certificate expires. The HSE also strongly recommends an annual three-hour refresher between full certificates to keep skills sharp.
