Why Train in Cambridge?
Cambridge is a global hub for life sciences, technology and academic research, with employers ranging from biotech start-ups on Granta Park and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus through to colleges, language schools and creative agencies in the historic centre. Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 every Cambridge employer must complete a first-aid needs assessment — for low-risk offices, labs with good engineering controls and educational settings a one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate is normally sufficient, while higher-hazard sites typically need the three-day FAW. Training locally at our Holiday Inn Cambridge venue in Impington (CB24 9PH), just off the A14 at Histon, keeps researchers and office staff close to the workplace and produces an recognised course recognised by the HSE for three years.
Cambridge is a global centre for innovation, with a unique economic landscape dominated by science, technology and research. Within these highly specialised workplaces, fulfilling the legal first-aid duties set by the HSE is a critical component of maintaining a safe and productive environment.

About Defibrillator (AED) Training with CPR training in Cambridge
This intensive three-hour Defibrillator (AED) and CPR course is designed for individuals with no prior first-aid experience, as well as those looking to enhance their existing skills. As a recognised training provider, our curriculum is HSE-aligned and follows current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, ensuring your business meets its safety obligations under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. During the session, participants practice realistic scenarios using training defibrillators, learning how to safely manage a casualty, perform chest compressions, and follow the voice prompts of an AED unit.
This training is particularly recommended for staff at large-scale employers like AstraZeneca or ARM Holdings, as well as community groups and sports clubs throughout St Ives and the surrounding villages. Upon successful completion, delegates receive a certificate valid for three years, though we strongly recommend an annual refresher to maintain muscle memory and confidence. It is a cost-effective, high-impact way to protect your employees and visitors in one of the UK’s most innovative cities.
